Product Atlas participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

When you buy something through a link on this site, the site may earn a commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your total.

What the commission does not buy

• No manufacturer has paid for coverage, placement, or a rating on this site.
• No free products are accepted in exchange for favourable coverage.
• Rankings are not ordered by commission rate. Where a cheaper product is the better answer, it is given as the answer.

Products deliberately linked to nothing

Some of the most useful products covered here carry no affiliate link at all. That is a deliberate policy, and the reason is worth stating plainly, because it explains a pattern you will notice.

Amazon's referral cookie lasts 24 hours. A purchase that a reasonable person takes several days to think about — a portable washing machine, a countertop dishwasher, a full closet system — will usually be made after that window has closed. Attaching an affiliate link to those products would earn nothing while creating a reason to recommend the expensive option. So they are written about and linked to the manufacturer, and the affiliate links stay on the things people actually buy the same day.

Where disclosure appears

A disclosure notice appears above the first affiliate link on every page that contains one, in line with the FTC's requirement that disclosures be clear and conspicuous and appear before the endorsement they qualify. A footer link on its own does not meet that standard, so this site does not rely on one.
